My friends got me couponing recently and I’m addicted! I can’t believe how much money I’ve saved, its fun! Today we went to Albertsons and did two transactions, here is what we got and how I saved:

The coupons I used here came from TheCouponClippers.com and from contacting companies. I just send companies like Dannon an e-mail, telling them I love their products, or suggest a new flavor (coconut banana!) and some send coupons in the mail.

Summer Day

Happy Birthday Bob!

Bob’s birthday was on Thursday. He’s now 29, or as he joked “the age I’m going to be for the next 20 years”. We had a nice BBQ dinner at home- steak, fruit salad and mashed potatoes. Then we had cupcakes with his favorite frosting- Rainbow Chip. Later that night we watched a movie we had rented, Knowing. It was a decent movie, not as good as I was expecting, but it was fun.

Bob, with his cupcakes. I was going to put 29 candles on there, but the pack of candles only had 24 in it, so I settled for one candle on each cupcake.

 

This is the card Caleb picked out for Daddy. Caleb LOVES cards that play songs, this one had a bunch of cats singing happy birthday.

Sunday

Sunday morning we went to the Asotin County Aquatic Center. I didn’t bring my camera because I was worried about getting it wet, but I got a cute picture of Isabelle in her swimsuit before we left. Caleb loved playing in the wave pool. Even when the waves would go up over his head, he’d come out of the water with a big smile on his face. Isabelle liked splashing in the little kid area. She fell asleep when I was floating in the lazy river with her.

 

Later that evening we went up to Anatone to visit Bob’s Aunt Diane. We had a fun BBQ up there and celebrated Bob’s birthday together.

 

Diane had a little exercise trampoline that Caleb LOVED jumping on. He completely wore himself out on it. I think we’ll have to start looking on craigslist for one of these ;)

Saturday we went out to lunch with Leigh and Kelli. We decided to try a new place that we had never been before and it was really good! It was just a mom n pop sort of place, but the food was excellent. Isabelle had fun trying to steal Kelli’s food the entire time.

Badminton

Bob, Leigh, Kelli, David and Jordan (Leigh’s boyfriend) played badminton together on Saturday. There was a short thunderstorm in the middle of their game, but it was so hot that the rain felt nice- so they kept on playing! Later David and Bob put the sprinkler in the middle of the net and played a very wet and slippery game of badminton.

  

  

Leigh’s Kitten

The kids loved playing with Aunt Leigh’s kitten (doesn’t have a name yet). They were both very sweet with him, although Isabelle was mostly just curious.

Isabelle got pretty upset when the kitten stole her binky. Of course instead of helping her, mommy grabbed the camera and took a picture first :)

Caleb took this picture of the kitten in my lap. The little guy just hopped up and sat there for about 10 min.

Driving to Clarkston

We spent the 4th of July weekend in Bob’s hometown of Clarkston, WA (its in the southeastern corner of Washington). We left Friday afternoon and both kids slept on the first half of the drive. After dinner in Moses Lake they both woke up. Isabelle was okay for awhile, then she got really upset about 90 min from Clarkston. I think she was just sick of being in the car. We stopped a few times and she’d be happy until I went to put her back in the carseat. Poor girl. Here are a few pictures of how her mood progressed.

Last night we had a fire in our firepit and made smores. It was fun!

Moses Lake

Bob’s sister Kelli is staying with us for a week. Yesterday Bob went to pick her up. We live in Western Washington and his dad lives in Eastern Washington, so they both drove 3 hours towards the middle of the state and met in Moses Lake. Bob and Caleb got there an hour early, so they went to the park and played in the water. Caleb had lot of fun playing with his aunts Leigh and Kelli when they got there.
